The main purpose of this laboratory is to provide hands-on experience of virtual and augmented reality principles and technologies, and video making process. The laboratory’s inner walls and ceiling are painted black, and there are heavy black curtains on windows to block external and bounced light. Also, the Styrofoam panels are glued to the inner walls to provide better sound insulation. This is very important when shooting videos or getting the full immersion into virtual environment. There is steel frame with six lights on the ceiling. One whole wall is covered with green screen canvas which can be removed if not needed. There are also projection screen and video projector and Kinect sensor, which are used for experiencing and testing natural user interface VR applications. In this laboratory, students and Horizon2020 iMareCulture project staff can shoot videos, make and experience virtual and augmented reality applications.
